Why Crucible Is Different: We Bring the Work Closer to People
Some retreat organizations operate from one location. If you want the experience, you have to go to them. Others host just a handful of events each year, which can make the window narrow and the waiting long. Still others try to serve enormous crowds all at once, where it is difficult to imagine being deeply known.
The Crucible Project Retreat is different.
We have worked to make this inner work more available in more places. Today, Crucible Project retreats are held in 20 locations across the United States and in multiple countries on 3 continents. In many seasons, there are several retreat options available in a given month for those willing to travel. And we keep growing because alumni communities continue asking to hose retreats in their own regions.
That growth is not just logistical. It reflects a conviction.
We believe this kind of transformation should not be unusually hard to access. We want to bring the work closer to where you live. We want men and women to have a real opportunity to step into this journey without feeling like it belongs only to a few, in one place, at one time.
Acts 17:27 says that God orders things so that people “would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him.” We do not claim to control God’s timing, but we do want to remove unnecessary barriers when people are ready to say yes.
As God has expanded the Crucible Project, we have seen how meaningful it is for people to attend a retreat and then stay connected to others nearby. Geography is not everything, but it helps. It makes follow-up in community easier. It strengthens local community. It helps transformation become embodied in ordinary life, not just remembered as a distant experience.
This is not growth for growth’s sake. It is mission. It is stewardship. It is the ongoing desire to make room for more people to encounter God in the deep places of their lives.
So if you have assumed a retreat like this would be impossible to find, or too far away to consider, there may be more options than you realize.
The invitation may be closer than you think.
