Feeling Stuck

You don’t wake up one day and decide to be stuck. It happens slowly, quietly — one choice at a time. You get used to surviving. You get used to "fine." But deep down, you know something’s missing.

Here’s the truth: getting stuck isn’t a sign you’re broken — it’s a sign you’re overdue for a breakthrough. But until you name what's keeping you stuck, you'll keep carrying weight you were never meant to hold.

Comfort Over Growth

The path to being stuck starts when you choose comfort over growth. Comfort feels safe. Familiar. It whispers, “Just stay here. It's easier.” But comfort isn’t peace — real peace comes when you move forward, not when you stay the same.

Jesus said in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you... Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Real peace isn’t the absence of change — it’s the presence of Christ in change. Underneath it, the lie grows: “I have to do it all on my own.” You start thinking it’s all up to you. That change is too heavy to carry — so better not move at all. But you were never meant to walk this road alone. Healing happens in community, not isolation.

Silence is Loud

Over time, silence becomes louder than words. You don’t talk about what’s hurting. You tell yourself, “I'm fine.” You push it down. Numb it out. Pretend it's not there. But silence isn't safe — it’s screaming through your short temper, your disconnection, your distance from the people you love. When you believe the lie that "real strength" means not feeling anything, you lose access to the very thing God created to heal you: your heart.

Jesus wept over brokenness - John 11:35
David cried out in his anguish - Psalm 34:17-18
Moses breaks the tablets in anger over Israel's sin - Exodus 32:19
Jacob fears encountering his brother Esau after years apart - Genesis 32:6-7
Elizabeth and Mary rejoice with joy at Jesus' coming birth - Luke 1:41-44
David dances before the Lord with all his might - 2 Samual 6:14-15
Peter leaps into the water excited to meet Jesus - John 21:7
The Prodigal Son's father runs to him in compassion - Luke 15:20
And so many more examples.

Avoidance is Costly

You think avoiding it will cost you less. You tell yourself there’s still time. That maybe it’ll work itself out. But every delay costs something — time, trust, presence, purpose. There’s no “safe” way to stay stuck.

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death." Proverbs 14:12

Every day you avoid stepping into the fire, the flame gets bigger. And somewhere inside, the lie grows: “My worth is tied to my performance.” You think if you can just keep performing, keep producing, keep hiding your mess, you’ll be okay. But the Father never asked you to earn your worth. He already gave it to you.

Stuck is Your New Normal

At some point, you start to believe stuck is just who you are now. Burned out. Checked out. Barely holding on. You look at your past and wonder if it’s too late. If maybe you missed your shot. You carry the lie: “My past disqualifies me.” But your scars don’t disqualify you — they qualify you. God uses broken men and women to do powerful things. Your story, your healing, your comeback — it can be the survival guide someone else desperately needs.

You're Not Fine

The longer you believe these lies, the heavier they get. You start calling it strength — when really, it’s just survival. You think, “I'm fine." But numb isn’t strong. True strength isn’t hiding pain — it’s having the courage to face it.

Friend, you’ve carried this long enough. You don’t have to keep doing it alone. You don’t have to stay stuck.

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

It’s time to move. It’s time to choose breakthrough over burnout. It’s time to step into the fire — and find out you’re not alone in it.
