Giving the Gift of Transformation
“When you decide to confront a fear, confess a hidden struggle, or tell the truth about something you’ve avoided, you give your friends and family a new version of you: one that is more present, more grounded, more alive.” — Roy Wooten
As the Christmas season begins, many of us are thinking about gifts—what to buy, how to impress, and how to express love. But there’s a deeper gift that doesn’t come from a store: transformation. The gift of being renewed, of allowing God to do something in you that changes the trajectory of your life—and by extension the lives of those around you.
When we allow ourselves to be shaped by Christ—admitting what’s hidden, letting go of what’s worn us down, stepping into honest relationship with God and others—we offer a gift far beyond material things. We become conduits of grace, healing, and freedom.
Imagine giving your spouse, children, friends, or colleagues a person who is more true, more available, more courageous, more authentically you. That gift begins with your willingness to step into the process of renewal. The manger reminds us that God came into brokenness—into the mess—to heal, restore, and make new.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17
This season, ask:
- Where do I shrink back from being all God has called me to be?
- Where am I refusing to change because I’m comfortable?
- What part of my life have I closed off from God?
- hat next step would honor Him and bless others?
